A 41-year-old woman suffered burns to 40 percent of her body when her elderly husband threw corrosive acid at her when she asked for a divorce.

The woman, surnamed Song, was in serious condition in Prince of Wales Hospital last night. Her husband, surnamed Wong, 60, was arrested but had not been charged last night.

Wong and their nine-year-old daughter also suffered minor injuries. They were both treated and discharged.
